Early bird sales have closed with a pleasing take up.  There is a good deal of enthusiasm for this event so we are hoping to build on the success of the last Design Fest.

 

 

President Bill and Trish had represented the club at the Pacifica and Maori Health Sciences Ceremony at the University of Auckland.  Our 2024 MAPAS Award, commemorating Harold Titter, had been presented that evening. 

 

Our visitor on 21^st May, Anne Dunphy from the Penrose Club, spoke of the Penrose Club’s association with One Tree Hill College. With the Newmarket and Penrose Clubs’ increasing close collaboration, and blending of projects and interests, it would be important for the culture and mana of each Club to continue to be respected.

The Board meeting on 27^th May had approved in principle the merging of the two Clubs. Penrose members would be listed in the new Handbook and invited to our Changeover. 

To encourage younger members to become involved, provision is being made for an RCON Support Team category of membership. An admin fee would be payable, and the listing and details of the Team members would be included in the Handbook.

Discussion at the previous meeting included

Following the recent resignation of Russell Toplis, the resignations of similarly long standing members Roger Harvey and Terry Mikklesen had been received by the Board with regret.  Appropriate acknowledgements of their three impressive services to the Club to follow.  The resignation of Alyona Adankina had also been received.
