GARDEN DESIGN FEST

President Bill reported the new agreement with Dove Hospice, negotiated by Boyne & Paul, to enable the DesignFest to be held on the weekend of 23 & 24 November. Dove Hospice would assist with volunteers and IT.

ROMAC

Rosie Bradshaw updated us on Maliha’s recent 7 hour heart surgery in Starship. Maliha is now in intensive care, and her mother, Leimas Homs, is staying at Ronald McDonald House. Rosie is coordinating our support for mother and daughter – please get in touch with her if you can help.

RYPEN

The 2024 Rotary Youth Programme of Enrichment for Secondary School students will be held on 22/23/24 March.

We are required on Saturday 23^rd March at Hunua. Contact John Hawke for details - two more attendees required for the day [9.00am to 4.30pm].

Boyne introduced Karen Melville from Ghella Abergeldie JV and Peter Wilson from Watercare.

Karen and Peter proceeded to give us a well illustrated and detailed presentation on the $1.5 billion tunnelling project to get waste water from the central city down to the Mangere Treatment Station.

Planned for the last 20 years, consented in 2013 and commenced in 2019, the project is due to be finished by the end of 2026.

Petanque Evening

Last week, we enjoyed a sporting and social evening at the Epsom Bowling Club, organised by Peter Corner & John Hawke. Thanks to Peter, Janeen and John for their dedicated work on the BBQ meal, and a great evening.
