Meeting Notes and Notices
From President John Hawke

President John welcomed our visitors, including our German exchange student, Kalle Matti Muscheid, from Essen. Kalle is staying with Colin & Lizzie Lucas initially and is attending Mt Albert Grammar School.

Paul Harris Fellows

Past-President Bill recognised four very well-deserved Paul Harris Fellows from his year, with certificates and the appropriate pins: Mark Wells, John Graham, John Burton and Warwick Leyland.   Congratulations for the acknowledgement of great contributions and substantial years of service, Fellows.

Trees for Survival

Finally, remember the Trees for Survival planting day to take place on 9 August - Pinnacle Hill Road, Bombay 9.30am to 1pm.

Garden Design Fest 23 & 24 November

Early bird sales have closed with a pleasing take up.  There is a good deal of enthusiasm for this event so we are hoping to build on the success of the last Design Fest.

New Support Members
To encourage younger members to become involved, provision is being made for an RCON Support Team category of membership. An admin fee would be payable, and the listing and details of the Team members would be included in the Handbook.

Parking Parking Parking

The Warriors are playing at Go Media Mt Smart Stadium this Friday with another two games at that venue.

That means volunteers to run parking are needed.

For this Friday:

In general we need:

-          3 or 4 at No.23 Maurice Rd ( Bishop’s Electrical) and
-          5 at No.5 Maurice Rd.

This season we have had a combination of Rotarians, 1 from Rotaract, PTA, teachers and Rotary Apprentice Program students.

We run both cash and EFTPOS at each site. Warriors parking has been the backbone of Penrose Rotary fundraising since 1995 and we are looking to continue that tradition.

Friday 26 July v’s Tigers 8pm kickoff. Teams to be on site by 5.30pm
Bishop’s:   Shaun Peacock (Rotaract), John Scott,  Megan (teacher)
No.5 Maurice Road:  Angus Fletcher, Ali & Jarrod Felton, Samara ( PTA),  Khyani and Vahid ( RAP students)
The Rotarian at No.5 will need to stay till the end of the game as Ali & Jarrod have tickets to the game, but will return for the hour following.

We need to more helpers 5.30pm till 8.30pm.
