As I noted last week is a lot happening in the next few weeks so keep an eye on Rapport and watch your emails for event notifications.

    Rotary Youth Driver Awareness  [RYDA]

Ryda is a partnership which supports teachers on the journey as they provide their students with the tools and understanding they need to see themselves as active, responsible road citizens. Taking, largely, a student inquiry learning approach, Road Safety Education becomes part of the school culture from the first to last day of a young person’s high school life. Beyond that, Ryda provides students with the tools, habits and motivation to take action and stay safe on our roads as both drivers and passengers throughout their lives.

A grateful shout out to Peter Corner, Dave Hawke, John Hawke, Alan Hayward, Richard Solomon,  and David MacAuley from the Remuera Club, who all turned out last Monday to the Northern Netball Courts for Dillworth College’s 2025 RYDA  Course.  Our role is assisting the organising team lead by Adele and making sure the four groups get to each of their sessions on time and without disruption.
100 young men, and 100 questions. Respectful and well-focussed on the programme. Many of those present were, thanks to the College, learners or already had their Restricted [and a few their Full] driving licences and wanted to know more.
