ROMAC visitors

Rosie Bradshaw gave us a brief introduction to ROMAC - which is the acronym for Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children. The aim of ROMAC is to provide within Australia and New Zealand medical children for children 15 years and under from developing countries (generally within the Pacific basin) for life-saving and/or dignity restoring surgery not available to them in their own country.

She introduced us to our meeting guests from Vanuatu who are ROMAC participants as adults and children, Athenas, Sandrine, Yammie, Abelnando and Anesha. with open arms and hope that the medical procedures for the children are successful.

ROMAC travel expenses of an adult and child to New Zealand for surgery. Accommodation is provided at Ronald McDonald house and those people are provided with a support person, in this case Rosie, who accompanies them to medical appointments, makes sure they have adequate clothing for winter and assist with provision of other necessaries.

We hope the visit of our guests to New Zealand is successful.
