An evening of wahine toa/confident women is headlined by Melanie Medland. Melanie is a professional communicator who works with parents and employers to ensure their children and employees thrive. In her presentation she will share exactly why "kia ora" is so much more than "hello". We also have cameo presentations from two recent Rotary awardees: 1. Genevieve Mora: co-founder of mental illness charity "Voices of Hope" - an awardee of the 2022 Circus Quirkus event; and 2. Holly Kewene: Winner of the 2021 MAPAS award, meaning she was the top student in her class in the year long programme to advance Maori and Paficia into medicine and health sciences. We look forward to your company at this event. As always with our dinner meetings - its ideal to bring a friend for an evening of celebration and learning. |

CALLING Garden Volunteers! If you would like to join the team working tirelessly to put this wonderful event on then we would love to hear from you! Every garden in the festival requires at least two volunteers to ‘look after’ the garden and be stationed at a table at the entrance to each garden. You will be required to put on your best smile and welcome visitors to the gardens, check/issue wristbands, collect/sell tickets, hand out programmes and generally be a fabulous ambassador for the festival. We have two shifts per day in each garden each day – Saturday morning 9.30am – 1pm, Saturday afternoon 12.45 – 4.30pm, Sunday morning 9.30am – 1pm, and Sunday afternoon 12.45 – 4.30pm. On arrival you will be able to meet the designer and walk around the garden and as a thank you for your help you will be given a ticket to visit one other garden in the festival of your choice. Do it with a friend or meet somebody new! Choose the suburb or the designer you’d like to be with, the day or time that suits you best and get in touch with us. We’d love to hear from you. Please use our form below to apply, or email our volunteer coordinator Kay Madigan, Trustee & Community Liaison, Village Square Trust Board with any questions on kaymadigannz@gmail.com
