Rotary Newmarket ran RYLA this year as you are all aware and we sponsored 28 future young leaders to attend. We have invited them to attend our next evening meeting at the Remuera Golf Club and make sure you come along and be inspired by these future leaders in business and the community. Our special guest will be serial entreprenuer Murray Thom who received a standing ovation when he spoke at RYLA. This will be a full house so register now and remember you cannot just turn up as we then run short of food.

An Evening with Mike King Come join us for what will be an eye-opening Tuesday evening with Mike King at Remuera Golf Course. Spreading hope from Bluff to Cape Reinga: 9 scooters, 70 talks and 3500km on the road to meet 20,000 amazing people… the I Am Hope Aotearoa Tour was a wild ride. And the time has come to share the journey with Rotary Newmarket. “BECAUSE THREE FAMILIES LOSE A LOVED ONE TO SUICIDE EVERY TWO DAYS IN OUR COUNTRY!” The current “harden up, stay staunch and let’s not talk about it” attitude towards anyone with a mental illness or who is having thoughts of suicide is a major part of the problem. Mike King, for those of you who don't know, is a New Zealand comedian and television personality. He is also known in New Zealand for the marketing of and subsequent disengaging from the pork industry, and his work on mental health awareness. So come along an hear all about it! |
